Greetings Saint Charles Public Schools!
My name is Jeff ("Chef Jeff" to many of our students) and I am excited to enter my 3rd year serving our district as our Director of Food Service and Nutrition. My wife Kari is currently teaching at the 5th grade level at our Elementary School, and we have 2 children (Elijah and Lilly) attending the district at the Elementary and High School levels as well. We are proud and grateful to be able to call Saint Charles home, with family nearby throughout Southern MN and an appreciation for the “small town” feel that we got as soon as we started looking for homes here in 2017.
I have explored much as a Culinary professional, including managing a Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center Kitchen in downtown Seattle, owning/operating a Korean Food Truck, learning to cook from scratch in Upscale Retirement Communities as well as managing multiple accounts for Morrison Healthcare and Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I’ve been in and around kitchens for over 20 years, and never tire of thinking about, talking about or working with FOOD.
This love for food as well as community will drive me to challenge our staff and educate our parents/students (or anyone who will listen more often than not!) on how we can intentionally fuel our bodies while still enjoying our favorite flavors.
