Art II
Art II meets every day for one semester. All students must take Art I before taking this class. This course is designed to follow up on everything that the student has learned during Art I. Thus, the student will improve technical skills and processes through various ways of creating art.
Requirements: Successful completion of Art I. Desire to continue in the Art program and be successful within the class.
Grades: Grades are based upon the projects that are completed, tests, quizzes, class participation, and having a positive attitude toward the subject. Projects will include but not necessarily in this order:

Art II
- Grades 10, 11, and 12 only
- 1 Semester =.5 credit earned
- Art I is a prerequisite for Art II

- 7 Deadly Sins
- Collage
- Sculpture
- Pop Can Critters
- Plaster Sculptures
- Printmaking
- Greeting Cards
- Mono-Types
- Scratch Art
- Glass Etching
- Bookbinding
The students will:
1. Explore the knowledge gained through practice and hard work.
2. Overlap drawing and design skills to begin learning techniques in the painting medium.
3. Know, use, analyze visual information and concepts in his/her own work and work of others.
4. Demonstrate original thinking to creatively solve design and structure problems.
Classroom Rules
- Attendance
- Plan to be here every day and on time.
- You must be here in order to participate in the units being taught.
- If you are tardy or late for any reason, you must have a pass from the office
- Absences.
- Excused absences may be made up within one week. It is your responsibility find out what work was missed and your responsibility to complete the work.
- Unexcused absences CANNOT BE MADE UP – this includes test and quizzes. Please see your handbook to explain unexcused absences.

- Extra Stuff
- Consumption of food is not allowed in class. Beverages will be allowed if and only if they have a lid or twist cap.
- No personal electronics are to be used in the classroom. Please use the parking lot for all personal electronic devices. If a person is found to be using an electronic device during class it will be confiscated and turned into the office. Consequences will then be assigned by the office.
- No one may leave the classroom without permission from the teacher.
- Pass from office, bathroom emergency, or severe illness (vomiting) are all acceptable excuses for leaving.
- Refrain from using any foul language or off-color innuendos.
- Assignments
- Most assignments will be hands-on activities
- Some assignments will require you to read, write, sketch or draw.
- ALL ASSIGNMENTS WILL REQUIRE YOU TO THINK!
- Grading
- Participation and attitude are a part of your grade and are included in each project.
- Grades are determined on a total point basis. The more you points you accumulate, the higher your grade. Points are earned on each project from 5 points to 50 points depending on the unit being covered as well as other factors related to the unit and the classroom. Grades will be based on projects, tests, papers, daily work effort, creativity, ability to follow directions, responsibility and safety in a studio setting and a desire to do one’s best.

B- 83% 80.5%
C+ 80% 77.5%
